Bhau's Christmas 2006 / New Year's 2007 Message

Date:  Saturday, 23rd December, 2006

From an email dictated Friday, 15th December, 2006.

Beloved Avatar Meher Baba Ki Jai!

I want to offer all you dear ones my prayer to Beloved Baba as a message for Christmas and the New Year:

May Beloved Avatar Meher Baba bless you with His love for Christmas.

Though He was crucified, it was a lesson for us that through the weapon of love, we, also, should be crucified gradually, gradually.

May the false self be crucified, and the Real Self, which can never be crucified, experience the Real Christmas in the Eternal Present.

May the past and the future be crucified, so that you remain in the Eternal Present.

May you enjoy the real Christmas, and may you experience Christmas without the past and the future.

May you do selfless service for this purpose -- to give pleasure to the Real Self.

May you know and experience that you are not two, but One, without beginning and without end, and know that you are eternally the same Eternal One.

May you know and experience that limitedness is nothing but Illusion.

May you experience the New Year only Today, without tomorrow or yesterday, and enjoy bliss eternally.

Preparations for Amartithi are going on, and we will think of the preparation for Beloved Baba's birthday after Amartithi.

May you not miss any birthday of the Beloved, which is called "birthday" within the limit of our gross consciousness.  He is the One who never takes birth and never dies.  He is always eternal.  But to people of our consciousness, He appears that He has a body, a tongue, a mouth and all the organs of the physical body.

That's why He gave me His last words on 30th January, 1969:  "Remember this:  I am not this body."

Between 10 p.m. and midnight, He said it three times.  Once at 10 p.m., the second at 11 p.m. and the third at midnight.

When He said "Remember this" the second time, He did not make any sign but uttered in a feeble voice, "Yad rakh," that is, "Remember this."

And this event has made room in my heart.  If I see His picture, I recall those words, "Remember this:  I am not this body."

There is no doubt that you are celebrating Christmas and the New Year silently in your hearts.  It is very touching.  Nobody knows what you are celebrating.  Others may think that you are atheists because you are not celebrating Christmas.  Only your hearts, which remain in the domain of silence, know this truth.

With all love and Jai Baba to you,

            In His Love and Service,
